This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
PLEASED STAY TUNED FOR THE FOLLOWING ANNOUNCEMENT:
Attention all listeners- The Internet can be a dangerous place to spend your time and social skills. Yes, there are safe sites out there that are enjoyed by users of all ages, but there are dangers lurking in the shadows as well.
Today's attention will be turned towards a threat that seems to be threatening the enjoyable times you can have on sites such as Youtube, Livejournal (pardon the spelling), or other sites in which you can submit your videos or whatnot. Yes, today we'll be talking about Internet Trolls.
What is an Internet Troll? An Internet Troll ("troll" for short) is someone who submits something that raises controversy or emotional comments (most being very negative). This is merely a tool in order for the troll to get attention because, well...no one really knows why. Loneliness? Superiority complex? A dire need to put others down for the "lulz?" As stated earlier, no one really knows but the troll himself. (A troll can also be a woman, but for grammatical purposes, we're keeping it as a male reference. Please don't take offense.)
Is there any way we can reduce the number of trolls if we can't altogether stop the hate fest? There is a way. To fight this "threat," you are equipped with very few, but very powerful, items that will aid you on your mission.
1) The Back Button- Located at the top left corner of your Internet window. In the event you should encounter a post you believe is the work of a troll, simply click the back button and continue on your merry way.
2) Your Brain- possibly the most potent. In the event that you do choose to comment (a very gutsy move, I must say), the brain should be used in order to think out what you type before typing. FOR THE LOVE OF CRIPES please refrain from death threats or encouragements of suicide. These remarks are NEVER the best thing to put down. We understand that trolls can upset you-that's what they're aiming for. Don't fall for it!
3) The Benefit of the Doubt- perhaps said troll doesn't know he's trolling. This is an EXTREMELY rare case seeing that most trolls do know what they're doing. Give the benefit of the doubt, meaning you shouldn't judge someone by one video he submitted. If all their videos are similar (a.k.a. offensive) then this technique is a dud. Don't even think of using it.
Some final words: Stop the hate- respect is only the MINIMUM that you can give to someone. Instead of posting up videos telling who knows how many people about your aggressions towards others, do something a bit less "evil," like ignoring or having a civilized conversation. No offense should be taken from the previous statement.
As for trolls who stumble upon this announcement: If you plan on sending comments criticizing my style of writing, choice of music, or my art style, I say go right ahead. Your comment will most likely be ignored if not already deleted. Oh yea, I went there.
STOP THE TROLLS- STOP THE HATE. THROW UP YOUR ROCKFISTS AND LET'S GO!
